MEDIA BROADCAST

Mobile Digital Radio Link

Outside broadcasts without fiber-optic access are generally carried out using mobile SNG trucks and compressed signals. With its digital R140 Link connection via a mobile digital radio link system, MEDIA BROADCAST offers a qualitatively high-value alternative, especially in respect of post-production. To do this, the SD-SDI video signal is coded using DPCM and transmitted using a near lossless bandwidth of 140 Mbit/s.

But compressed video signals can also be transmitted. Thus it is possible to transmit several SD video signals or even one HD video signal. This requires that the signals are compressed with MPEG encoders and merged with multiplexers (e.g. broadcast service multiplexers). 155 Mbit/s are available for this bi-directionally.

Advantages

  • Constant digital transmission of the signals from the site of recording through to the studio comparable with fiber-optic transmission, even in the case of transmissions "from the depths of the country."
  • Because of the bi-directionality of the mobile digital radio link connection, additional applications such as return image signal, command or (n-1) - connections can be integrated without problems.
  • Connection via the MEDIA BROADCAST switching network or mobile digital radio link relay broadcasting terminal at/in the studio.
