MEDIA BROADCAST

Digital Radio offers more - nationwide radio in Germany!

In addition to a greater variety of programmes, Digital Radio also offers a nationwide, terrestrial distribution of new and appealing programs. The continuous advancement of audio codecs used for this purpose allows for a better utilisation of the limited frequency resources in Germany. In addition, digital transmission offers an excellent, static-free sound quality for both stationary and mobile reception. Together with the transmission of extra, Internet-like offers and data services, Digital Radio opens up many innovative possibilities for broadcasters to fascinate and generate new listeners.

Digital Radio can also become the most important distribution channel for interesting and helpful city and traffic information. This opens up a new and interesting market: digital radio in portable navigation devices. In September 2009, MEDIA BROADCAST was licensed to operate the nationwide Digital Radio network by the German Federal Network Agency. The considerations involved in the network design and the conditions for the network operation are described in the downloadable brochure below, which also contains important information concerning current receivers and the progress of Digital Radio in other European countries.

Interested radio broadcasters and providers of multimedia services can submit their applications to the tender for transmission capacities to the appropriate organisations between 22 January and 12 March 2010 at 12:00.
